Before you can show a climb you have to know the floor. We scored six nearby sites on the same rubric we use on ourselves. Here is what they got.
Charted is how findable you are on Google today. Horizon is whether AI assistants can read, trust, and recommend you. Both run 0 to 100. Measured across six nearby sites in our own market, the average is 34 out of 100 on the first and 25 on the second. Not because the owners did anything wrong, but because nobody built the signals search and AI actually read.
Most sites have no structured data, no llms.txt, thin pages, a PDF menu or a single scrolling page, and a contact address the machines can't parse. None of that is visible to a human visitor, so it never gets fixed. It's exactly what our scoreboard is built to surface, and exactly the gap the rest of this log is about closing.
