Most sites make AI guess what they do. We wrote it down in a plain file AI tools can read, so we're ready when they start using it.
We published an llms.txt at the root of the site: a plain, structured summary of who we are, what we sell, what it costs, and every page worth reading. Google says its search doesn't use these files yet, but that could change any day, and some AI tools already read them. Ours is already there, and it keeps itself up to date.
We generate it from the same source of truth as the website, so it can never drift out of date, and it rebuilds automatically on every deploy. Then we pointed to it from robots.txt so the crawlers find it. Total ongoing effort: zero, because a machine maintains it.
